Jeffrey Baldwin inquest continues

One of the six adults living in a Toronto house where a five-year old boy was starved to death by his grandparents, testified at the inquest into his death today.
Mike Reitemeir testified that he didn’t want to speak up against Jeffrey’s treatment because he didn’t want to be kicked out of the house. He also told the inquiry that days before Jeffrey died, he had trouble standing, eating, and even holding his head up.
Jeffrey died in November 2002, weighing just 21 pounds. His grandparents, Elva Bottineau and Norman Kidman, were convicted of second-degree murder in his death. The inquest is expected to last three months and hear from about 35 witnesses.
