‘The Jaws of Life’ stolen from Fort Erie fire station

Niagara police are asking for the public’s help after a life-saving tool was stolen from a fire station in Fort Erie.

Police say a Hurst Extractor was taken from Station 5 on Stevensville Rd. sometime between Jan. 29 and Feb. 10.

The tool is commonly referred to as “The Jaws of Life” and is used to pry open vehicles involved in collisions when a victim is trapped.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the theft to come forward and contact Detective Constable Michael Fletcher at the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, ext. 4-9369.
