It is HOT in Hamilton
The City of Hamilton is under a heat advisory.
Tuesday’s heat advisory is classified as stage two.
The city has opened cooling places to help residents beat the oppressive heat and city pools will be open later than normal.
The Salvation Army was out in Gore Park handing out bottles of water to help keep people hydrated.
As of Wednesday, Hamilton will be under a stage three heat alert.
A stage three alert is called if the humidex reading stays above 40 degrees for more than three days.
Hamilton’s Medical Officer of Health has said this could be the longest heat event in recent memory.
