Israeli military expands ground offensive into urban refugee camps

The Israeli military says it’s expanded its ground offensive to the central part of the territory, where urban refugee camps are located.

The built-up towns are now crowded with Palestinians who fled northern Gaza in the early stages of the war.

Israeli defense forces are beginning to gradually move into smaller areas of the strip after weeks of bombardment in major urban centers.

Since Israel has issued an order for people in the strip to evacuate major urban centers, it’s been widely reported that nearly 2 million in the strip have been displaced.

On top of the lack of food, water, and fuel, on Tuesday, three Palestinian internet providers said service is completely down in the strip.

Also, World Health Officials have been making their way to numerous hospitals in Gaza, where they say more casualties are arriving.

Meanwhile, with international pressure for a cease-fire building, top U.S. officials were meeting with Israel’s Minister for Strategic Affairs at the White House in Washington, with an aim to convince Israel to scale down combat and protect civilians.

Israel says despite some differences between the two allies, they have the same goal in mind.

Egyptian officials put forward a proposal to both Israel and Hamas, that could potentially bring an end to the war and implement a phased hostage release.

There has been no official word from Hamas and Israel about the plan.
