Investigators suspect ammonium nitrate as the cause of the deadly explosion in Beirut

As people living in Beirut, Lebanon continue to pick up the pieces from the deadly blast, locals and their government are trying to figure out how and why this happened.

A former British army officer and bomb disposal expert says the blast has tell-tale signs of an ammonium nitrate explosion.

Here in Canada, the use of ammonium nitrate has declined in recent years.
