Hamilton police say the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is investigating a “sudden death” at Redeemer University last week.
A spokesperson for the private Christian liberal arts and science university told CHCH News that the student died on Nov. 24 on campus.
“The community is deeply saddened by this tremendous loss,” Redeemer University communications manager Shannon McBride said in an email.

“Classes were cancelled on Thursday and Redeemer’s flag has been lowered to half staff.”
Hamilton police say they responded to the university last week and the death is not considered suspicious.
McBride says next of kin has been notified and the university continues to cooperate with police.
Mental health supports for students, faculty and staff have been made available, she said.
