Children’s Aid workers and a pathologist are set to testify today at a coroner’s inquest into the starvation death of a five-year old Toronto boy.

The inquest into Jeffrey Baldwin’s death started yesterday with testimony from first responders, who were on the scene when he died in 2002 at just 21 lbs.

Jeffrey’s grandmother, Elva Bottineau, called 911 that morning, but emergency crews say she was more annoyed than alarmed.

Bottinuea and Jeffrey’s grandfather Norman Kidman, were convicted of second-degree murder in 2006.

The inquest is expected to last three months and hear from about 35 witnesses.
