The exhibition is titled ‘Radical Stitch’ and brings much needed critical attention to political, creative, and aesthetic dimensions of beadwork.

Officially opening Saturday at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, viewers are invited to immerse themselves in the breadth and impact of the practice of beading.

There is also a free opening celebration for the exhibition this evening from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There are 35 different artists from across North America and Turtle Island featured in the exhibition.

The selected pieces show current and future directions of some of the most exciting and impressive practices of beading, a tradition of making that has been exercised over thousands of years.

The exhibition will be able to view until May 28 and requires tickets to attend.
