Impact of the polar vortex

The frigid temperatures meant another busy day for plumbers and city workers as frozen pipes and water mains continue to burst.

Here on Stonechurch between Upper Wellington and Upper Wentworth, the road is expected to be closed well into the night as city crews work to repair a broken watermain that has left 50 homes with no water. And there were dozens of other homeowners Tuesday who woke up with no water because their pipes were frozen.
