IKEA recalls LURVIG Water Dispenser due to suffocation hazard for pets

IKEA Canada is recalling the LURVIG water dispenser due to risk of pets getting their heads stuck in the dome of the dispenser.

IKEA globally has received reports of two incidents where dogs got their heads stuck and suffocated.

There have been no reported incidents in Canada.

LURVIG water dispenser was sold in Canada from October 2017 to July 2018 and 7,767 units have been sold in Canada.

IKEA urges customers to stop using the water dispenser and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund.

Customers should return their LURVIG water dispenser at the Returns & Exchange department at any IKEA store or call IKEA Customer Service toll-free, 1-800-661-9807 for a full refund.

Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required by IKEA for this recall.
