Ignatieff: watching for gas price gouging

During a campaign-style stop in Oakville Friday, federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff expressed concern about who may be profiting from rising gas prices.


Crude oil futures have spiked 20 percent from last week because of the turmoil in Libya.
The Liberal leader says it’s questionable who’s benefiting in the long run.

“Gas prices are a concern to every Canadian. And we want to make sure that no one in the retail chain is taking advantage of what’s going on in Libya. So Dan McTeague who is one of Canada’s best experts on gas prices will be looking at that very carefully to make sure no one gets gouged here.”
The average price of gas in Hamilton Friday is $1.20 point 3 cents per litre.
