Ice storm warning issued

A freezing rain warning is in effect for many areas Thursday night including Hamilton, Halton and Toronto. Environment Canada says we can expect periods of freezing rain beginning very early Friday morning. At a time when everyone is getting ready to either go home for the holidays or get some last minute shopping done.
It’s quiet behind me now, at least weather-wise, but we’ve had a dull, grey, cloudy day and that’s just a hint of what’s coming, for the last weekend before Christmas.
And if you’re packing a suitcase to do some traveling this Christmas, the people who will help to get you there, are already preparing the way:
Mike Christian wanted to thank the workers and their families for all of the long hours they’ve already logged at a very busy time of year and they will be logging some more over the next few days. And travelers too are going to have to budget time to get to and from their destinations. Check road conditions before you leave. Aand if you’re flying, check the Pearson flight information online for delays and cancellations before leaving for the airport. And you’d better budget some extra time to get there just in case.
