“I have smoked marijuana”: Premier

Premier Kathleen Wynne admitted earlier today she has smoked pot, but says she hasn’t for many years.
“I have smoked marijuana, but not for the last 35 years. I anticipated this question — I was trying to work out when the last time would have been — very, very infrequently and certainly not since my children were born. My eldest is 33, so i’m thinking 35 years. It has never been a big part of my life and, you know, these are personal decisions that people make and I’m not going to weigh in on decisions of another politician or individual, but that’s my experience.”
Wynne’s admission follows federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau’s admission last week to smoking pot three years ago while a sitting MP. Many politicians have been asked about their use ever since. Prime minister Stephen Harper says he hasn’t smoked it because of his asthma. Foreign affairs minister John Baird also says he’s avoided it, after seeing a U.S. Supreme Court nominee withdraw, after it emerged he had smoked marijuana in college.
