It was dark inside thousands of homes and businesses in central Hamilton this morning.
The power went out around 10:30 this morning for almost 15,000 customers. The blackout stretched from Burlington street to Fennell, and Wentworth to Dundurn.
John Friesen of Horizon Utilities says the outage was caused by a supply issue from Hydro One, and that the company tried to work as quickly as possible to resolve the problem. “It was efficient is what it was, but it’s never an ideal situation.”
“It was a relatively short time frame, but even just a few minutes is too much for us, so we try to be as responsive as we can.”
The outage lasted just over half an hour. Hydro One says it is investigating exactly what went wrong.
