Hurricane Irene knocks out power in Quebec
Damaging winds and floods in Quebec
Irene is a post-tropical storm now, which has prompted Environment Canada to end a tropical storm warning for much of Nova Scotia.
But high winds are still forecast for exposed areas of the region and southern Quebec is still getting pounded with heavy rain.
And there is still the potential for high winds to push storm surge and waves during the high tide near noon today in the Bay of Fundy.
The storm has dumped between 50 and 100-millimetres of rain on parts of Southern Quebec and New Brunswick.
In Quebec, nearly 250-thousand homes and businesses were without power last night as the outer fringes of the storm brought heavy rain and gusts to the province.
