Humidex advisory in effect

There is a humidex advisory for much of Southern Ontario including Hamilton, and the Niagara region. The Greater Toronto Area is now under an extreme heat alert, as temperatures top out at 40 degrees with the humidity factored in.

Anyone spending any time outside today is reminded to drink lots of fluids and those vulnerable to heat are advised to seek shelter in air conditioned buildings. People are reminded not to leave children or pets alone in closed vehicles.
