Human trafficking investigation leads to additional charges

On April 25, 2016 the Niagara Regional Police Service arrested Jevone Brown, 23, of Brampton Ontario as the result of an assault investigation.

Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Morality Unit initiated an investigation into the activities of Brown after receiving information regarding allegations of human trafficking.

On May 11, 2016 Brown was returned to the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines to face the following additional criminal charges:

  • Exercise Control of a Person Under 18 years
  • Receive a Material Benefit from Sexual Services of a Person Under 18 years
  • Advertising Sexual Services

Police believe that there may be other young victim(s) in the sex trade that may have come into contact with Jevone Brown.  Police are asking for any assistance to identify and assist these individuals.
