Human case of West Nile in Hamilton

Hamilton public health officials have reported the city’s first human case of West Nile virus this year.

A woman in her 20’s has contracted the virus.

Mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile are on the rise across Ontario and the risk of being infected has gone from moderate to high.

That’s because of this summer’s high temperatures.

There have also been human cases in Halton, Toronto and Windsor.
