Hudak would intervene in Ford matter if necessary

Ontario PC leader Tim Hudak weighed in on the controversy surrounding Toronto mayor Rob Ford this morning.
Hudak says he would support a motion to intervene in the situation, but only at the request of Toronto city council.
“We’ve gotta get this past us. It looks like the city moved in some ways to deal with the situation in some ways, it looks like they’re going to continue down that path. If the ball comes back and they say they can’t govern and there’s an argument that they’re paralyzed, then we need to respond to that, but in the meantime they’re addressing the issue as they can as a city.”
Hudak also commented on councillor Doug Ford’s plans to run in the next provincial election under the PC banner. He wouldn’t say whether he still supports Ford running as a candidate, but says he’s keeping a close eye on developments at Toronto city hall.
