House fire on Park Row North under investigation

[projekktor id=’23140′]
The Hamilton fire department sent nine units to Park Row North by Cannon Street around 11:30 last night, where house number 172 was up in flames.
They quickly knocked down the fire and have deemed it suspicious, so the fire department called the Office of the Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal is usually contacted if the damage is over $500 000 or if the blaze appears suspicious. Police say the damage is less than $500 000 but wouldn’t comment any further.
So far we have learned that at least two people live in the home. A tenant upstairs left his apartment 15 minutes before the fire began. The homeowner downstairs was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and is expected to return today.
The Red Cross was called to help them find a place to stay because the home is gutted on the inside.
The police did say that the address is not known to them.
