Hospital reaffirms rights through ad

A Toronto-area hospital is capitalizing on the controversy around Quebec’s values charter; that’s the proposed religious clothing ban for public sector workers.
Lakeridge Health in Oshawa tweeted an ad Thursday morning. It’s also been published in a McGill student newspaper, seeking healthcare professionals. The poster depicts a woman wearing a hijab, a clothing item that would be banned under Quebec’s “values charter.” The legislation would also prohibit hospital and other public sector workers from wearing yamakas, turbans and large crosses in the workplace.
