There aren’t many new releases to highlight this week, but horror fans might be interested in the lone studio offering.
The Forest

Natalie Dormer starred in this early January horror release that took in just over $37.5-million at the worldwide box office. It wasn’t a hit with critics though, earning a measly 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. Those who do pick the blu-ray up in stores will find a pretty meagre offering of special features included in the package. An 8 minute behind the scenes feature called “Exploring the Forest” looks at the history of the Aokigahara or “suicide” forest, while first time director Jason Zada provides an audio commentary to the film.
