HMCS Charlottetown returns

HMCS Charlottetown made an emotional return home to Halifax Friday.

The frigate and its 240-member crew left in the spring to join a U.N. sanctioned mission in Libya.

Families were on hand to greet the crew, some, including the ship’s commander, meeting their newborn children for the first time.

HMCS Charlottetown came under fire twice, marking the first time a Canadian ship was fired on since the Korean war.
