Historic hatching at Toronto Zoo

The Toronto Zoo is celebrating an historic hatching.

They welcomed a Burmese star tortoise, the first in Canada to successfully hatch.

The tortoises are widely considered one of the most beautiful tortoises in the world, with a distinctive star pattern on their shells.

Mostly found in the dry regions of Myanmar, the population has been at risk in the last few years.
