High winds, waves demolish sailboat

The operator of a sailboat was forced to call a mayday last night, after it lost power and crashed into the rocks near the Beacon Harbourside Marina in Jordan. The waves at the time were about a metre high.

The pair on board weren’t injured, but the mast snapped off in the wind and landed on the QEW.

The boat was destroyed.
