HECFI boss ”terminated”

City of Hamilton terminates the head of the Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities as it struggles to fix the money-losing agency.

Duncan Gillespie was in charge of HECFI which runs the Convention Centre, Hamilton Place and Copps Coliseum.
A new board is now in place.
Hamilton’s City Manager Chris Murray is the interim chief executive.
In a brief statement Murray says Gillespie is no longer employed with the organization.
The city is struggling with the future operation of the three sites including a consideration of getting the private sector involved in the facilities.HECFI received a life-line of $11.6-million from the city last year to keep operating.
