Health Canada on track to approve second COVID-19 vaccine soon

Health Canada is on track to approve a second vaccine for COVID-19 soon.
That’s according to chief medical adviser Dr. Supriya Sharma, who says things look positive for the vaccine from U.S. biotech firm Moderna.
But she says there are still some outstanding manufacturing documents needed before the decision can be made.

This news comes as Canada begins day two of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Meanwhile, a new poll suggests people are still lukewarm about being vaccinated against the virus.
The poll, conducted by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies, says only 66 per cent of respondents say they plan to get the vaccine when it becomes widely available.
Sixteen per cent say they have no plans to get immunized, while 18 per cent say they didn’t know.
