Health Canada issues food recalls and warnings

Health Canada has issued three food recalls and two health product warnings.
Loblaw Companies Ltd. is recalling the 250g size PC brand Triangoli Pumpkin Filled Egg Pasta (UPC code 0 60383 00536 8) because it may contain cashews which are not declared on the label.
Gelato Fresco is recalling the 500ml size Gelato Fresco brand Toasted Hazelnut Dairy Ice (UPC Code 0 67902 50002 1) because it may contain almond which is not declared on the label.
Glen Echo Fine Foods is recalling two types of Inverloch Cheddar Cheese imported from Scotland due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The ‘Isle of Kintyre’ brands are the 1kg size of Laird’s Mustard Mature Cheddar & Whole Grain Mustard (UPC Code 5 060020 410338) and the 900g size of Applesmoke Mature Cheddar (UPC Code 5 060020 410260).
Dragon Power, an unauthorized product sold at The Herb Depot, 407-409 Dundas Street West in Toronto was found to contain an undeclared prescription drug (sildenafil) that may pose a serious risk to health. The product may also have been sold bearing the Natural Product Number NPN 80025214, or under the names “Super Dragon Power” or “Dragon Power II”.
And finally, Health Canada is saying that an unauthorized health product, Natrol DHEA 25mg, 180 tablet size, was being sold on Amazon.ca for hormonal management. It may pose serious risks to health. Amazon.ca has removed the advertisement from their site after being contacted by Health Canada. The department has also issued a compliance letter to the online seller “Maple Leaf Naturals.”
