Harper talks trade in Europe

After four years of talks, Canada and the European Union have reached a framework agreement on a free trade deal.

Prime Minister Harper left for Brussels, Belgium Thursday with an official announcement expected Friday. Sources say the final breakthrough came in the past few days after Canada agreed to double its import quota on European cheese in return for being allowed to export more Canadian beef and pork. The deal will still require the approval of the provinces in their areas of jurisdiction and the 28 member European Union.
