“The Handmaid’s Tale” cleans up at the Emmys

“The Handmaid’s Tale” cleaned up big at the Emmy Awards last night.

It won six awards: Best Drama Series, Best Actress,  Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, Best Directing, Best Guest Actress, and Best Writing.

The show, largely shot in Hamilton, Oakville, Cambridge and Toronto, is based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel about a future world where women are stripped of their rights and used mainly for breeding.

We spoke to the Hamilton home owner whose house is used as ‘The Commander’s House’ in the series.
