Handgun, drugs and cash seized during traffic stop in Hamilton

A Guelph man is facing several drug trafficking and weapons related charges after police found a handgun and drugs during a traffic stop.

Officers pulled over a silver Mercedes Benz in the area of Garfield Ave. and King St. East around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

“While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, observations were made by police which lead to the arrest of the male passenger,” said Hamilton police in a news release. “A search of the male revealed he was in possession of a large number of illicit drugs and a loaded firearm.”

Officers seized a handgun, crystal meth, crack cocaine, cocaine, purple heroin, and some cash.

Maciej Dymkowski, 34, is facing 13 charges including possession of prohibited firearm and possession proceeds of crime.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
