Handgun found in Hamilton school dumpster

Hamilton police are investigating after a replica handgun was found in a school dumpster.

The weapon was located on September 12 shortly after 9:00 a.m. on the property of St. John The Baptist Elementary School at 115 London Street South.

The school was placed in a Hold and Secure during the course of the investigation.

Anyone that could help assist police in identifying the origin of the gun is asked to contact them immediately.
