Hammer-wielding thief robs jewellery store inside Hamilton mall

Hamilton police are searching for a hammer-wielding thief who robbed a jewellery store in Jackson Square last month.

Police say a man walked into the Golden Gate Jewellers at 2 King St. West on Feb. 24.

Once inside, he pulled out a hammer and robbed the store owner of jewellery. The man was last seen fleeing west through the mall.

Police are looking for a white man, with blonde hair and a thin beard. He is roughly five-foot-eleven, with a slim build and was wearing glasses, black track pants, a black wool hat and a sweater.
