Hamilton’s Queen St. hill to close this summer

The city has confirmed that Hamilton’s Queen Street hill will be closed for three months this summer.

The busy mountain access will be off-limits from June to August between Amelia Street to Auchmar Road. The stretch between Aberdeen Avenue and Amelia Street will be open to local traffic. Construction is expected to be completed by the first week of September. Public Works officials say the $3.7 million project will focus on road, sewer and retaining wall repairs and drainage issues along Beckett Drive, which is the official name of the road.
