Hamilton’s popular James Street Stairs closed until fall

One set of Hamilton’s popular stairs, the James Street Stairs, is now closed until fall.

The stairs link James St. S to the top of the escarpment near the Claremont Access.

The closure is part of ongoing construction on the Claremont Access and the creation of the new Keddy Access trail.

The city has a website with updated timelines and specific details about the project.

Currently, the upbound lanes of the access are closed for resurfacing and lane reductions.
