Hamiltonians protest against alleged police brutality

In various states south of the border protesters continue to demonstrate against recent cases of perceived police brutality.
In Ontario there were similar protests over the weekend.
A handful of people protested Sunday morning in front of Hamilton City Hall, including family members of three men who were killed by police in Hamilton in the last few years.
These families say police need better watchdogs than the special investigations unit run by the province.
Steve Mesic was gunned down by police after leaving psychiatric care last year.
Police were called because he was seen walking on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.
The officers said Mesic threatened them with a shovel and they were cleared of wrongdoing.
Phonesay Chanthachak was shot and killed by Hamilton police officer Ryan Tocher in 2012.
Tocher has been cleared three times by the Special Investigations Unit.
Robert Chinnery’s 19-year old son Andreas was killed in 2011, after a neighbour called about a noise complaint.
He first staged a protest after the officers involved were cleared.
