Hamilton youth housing program receives grant

A program for homeless youth in Hamilton is receiving a sizeable grant from Home Depot.
The Wesley Youth Housing Program supports improvement projects to housing that benefits vulnerable and homeless youth. The $25,000 grant from Home Depot will go towards Wesley Youth Housing’s facility in Hamilton.
Residents at Wesley say the centre has improved their lives.
Karrissa Horan-Laroche: “It’s made me less anxious, ’cause I know that I have somewhere to go. I know that I have time to figure out where i’m going to go after.”
Brianne Preston: “Wesley kind of helped me. As this has gone on, I’ve really started to open my arms up to people and understand that there are people out there to help me, and Wesley has done so much to help me.”
The Home Depot grant aims to further support at-risk and homeless youth, and give them the skills they need to live independently. About 700 youth face homelessness in Hamilton.
