Hamilton woman suffers two broken legs after being hit by car

An 80-year-old Hamilton woman is in hospital with two broken legs after being hit by a car on Wednesday.

Hamilton police say the woman was crossing the street using her walker just after 5 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle on Queenston Road at Beland Avenue South.

She was pinned under the car briefly before being taken to Hamilton General Hospital.

Police say they expect to charge the driver with a Highway Traffic Act Offence.
