Hamilton woman gets 6 years for killing neighbour

A 44-year-old Hamilton woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for killing a neighbour.

The incident followed an argument over an air conditioner. Karen Flynn pleaded guilty to manslaughter after she stabbed Margaret Elizabeth Steer, 56, with a kitchen knife in their apartment building on MacNab Street North. It happened in January of this year.

It happened after the women’s boyfriends got into a fight over an air conditioner Steer had loaned Flynn.
