Hamilton woman, 79, dead after vehicle drives into Georgian Bay

A Hamilton woman has died after a vehicle drove into the waters of the Georgian Bay Wednesday afternoon.
OPP say that they responded to a marina in the village of Honey Harbour where they discovered a vehicle had driven into the water.
Police say that through a quick effort made by citizens and an officer, the lone driver of the vehicle was rescued from the vehicle and life-saving measures were performed.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The OPP have since identified the victim as a 79-year-old woman from Hamilton.
The OPP central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation has been called to the scene to assist officers in determining the cause of the incident.
