Hamilton Police traffic stop leads to arrest for stolen car

A traffic stop led Hamilton Police to find a stolen vehicle from Niagara.

Officers were conducting routine patrols in the area of Barton St. and Birch Ave. on Saturday night.

According to police, they stopped a blue Hyundai Sonata travelling along Barton St. around 8 p.m.

Officers discovered the vehicle had been stolen from the Niagara region and an arrest warrant had been issued for the driver.

Inside the car, they located several other stolen items and drugs.

The driver, 31-year-old Sharra Bailey from Niagara Falls faces several charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

She’s also charged for driving without a licence and possession of a controlled substance.

The passenger, Carrie Ingram, 34, also from Niagara Falls, has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.
