Hamilton tops Pan Am ticket requests

The top ticket requests for the Pan Am games have been released, and Hamilton is at the top of the list.

All of the soccer matches for the Pan Am games will take place at the newly built Tim Hortons Field. The chef-de-mission, Olympic medallist Curt Harnett says the numbers are a good sign of a successful event ahead.

“I think it’s indicative of the dynamic that is this beautiful community that we call the greater Golden Horseshoe.”

“I mean, from a perspective of it being one of the largest participation sports if not the largest participation sport here in Canada, and the global attractiveness of what football brings, and the beautiful venue that we have in Hamilton for it, it’s all of those stars colliding and some of the kids want to go watch out, see future stars take on the world.”

Behind soccer for requests is the opening ceremony, equestrian and track and field. Rounding out the list are gymnastics, aquatics and beach and indoor volleyball.

The games kick off July 10th, 2015. The online request window closes this coming Monday.
