Hamilton teens charged after allegedly pointing firearm at cab driver

Hamilton police have charged two teenagers who allegedly pointed a firearm at a cab driver Wednesday.

Officers say the incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. in the area of Charlton Ave. West and Bay St. South.

Investigators say the two boys exited a taxi, pointed the firearm and then went into a home in the area. Officers then arrested the suspects and seized the firearm.

A 17-year-old Hamilton boy is facing five separate charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and pointing a firearm, among others.

Police say he was on a release from the courts for previous charges and was on conditions to not possess any weapons, firearms or ammunition.

Another 17-year-old Hamilton boy was also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.
