Hamilton teen allegedly used pellet gun to rob Burlington teen

Halton police have arrested a Hamilton teenager after he allegedly used a pellet gun to rob another youth in Burlington.
Police were called to a robbery in the area of Mountainside Dr. and Maryvale Crt. around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A 15-year-old boy told officers he had arranged to meet with someone who was interested in buying a gold chain he had listed for sale on the buy and sell website ‘Letgo’.
During the transaction, the buyer reached into his vehicle, pulled out a pellet gun and demanded the teen hand it over.
The victim grabbed onto the pellet gun, threw it to the ground and a struggle ensured.
The buyer grabbed the gold chain and fled the area.
The suspect’s vehicle was later found by police on Lansdowne Dr. in Burlington.
Police say the vehicle had been stolen from the Dundas area during the overnight hours of Nov. 26.
A 15-year-old Hamilton boy was arrested on Nov. 28 and charged with robbery, using an imitation firearm during the commission of an offence and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 27.
The accused’s name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
