A reservist with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Hamilton who took his own life will be honoured by the Canadian military Saturday. His regiment is happy that Corporal Justin Stark will be properly acknowledged for his service to this country.
22 year old Justin Stark served a 7 month deployment in Afghanistan. In October 2011, 10 months after his return to Canada he killed himself in the barracks of Hamilton’s James Street armouries.
Saturday will end a long battle the family has fought to have the military recognize his death as service-related. Family members and friends along with the full regiment are expected to pack Central Presbyterian Church. Stark’s family will receive the Memorial Cross and his name will be recorded in the book of remembrance.
