Hamilton senior dies two weeks after being struck by vehicle

A 70-year-old man has died two weeks after being struck by a vehicle on Hamilton Mountain.

Hamilton police say the man was struck by a vehicle shortly after 3 p.m.on Feb. 5.

They say he was hit while attempting to cross Upper James St. just south of Wembley Rd.

The man was taken to hospital where he died on Sunday as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and continues to cooperate with investigators.

Police say impairment and speed have been ruled out and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police will not be releasing the name of the victim out of respect for the family.

This is the city’s third traffic fatality of 2022.
