Hamilton drivers will be able to travel both directions on Queen St. S between Main St. W and Aberdeen Ave. starting Wednesday.

The city says crews will continue working in the area over the next few weeks for finishing touches but the road will be open for travel.

The project began in June and has included the replacement of sidewalk corners and curbs, new traffic lights and pedestrian buttons and new cycle paths and bicycle traffic lights.

Crews will put in a new traffic signal at Queen St N. and Napier St. on Sept. 14.

The two-way conversion of the street between Main St. W and King St. W will be completed in 2021.
