Hamilton reviewing cemetery fees

It could soon cost you more to die in Hamilton.
The city wants to increase the price of grave sites by 15 percent over the next three years to more than $1300.
Hamilton’s public works committee also unanimously approved plans to increase the cost of being cremated, but the biggest increase will be in the cost for burying infants and children.
The committee wants to raise prices of the smaller burial plots by between 50 and 300 percent.
City Council will vote on the new pricing at its November 11th meeting.
If ratified, the new rates would go into effect in May.
