Hamilton resident finally claims $2.8M Blue Jays 50/50 jackpot from April

A Hamilton area resident has finally claimed their $2.8 million payout more than one week after the Blue Jays announced the winner of its 50/50 draw.
The Jays Care Foundation shared in a tweet Tuesday that Deb from the Hamilton region won $2,873,030 after buying 250 tickets for $100 on April 11 when Toronto hosted the Detroit Tigers at Rogers Centre.

No one initially came forward when the foundation announced a winner on May 1. Attendees of the game were then told to check their 50/50 tickets. Deb claimed their prize one week later.
The foundation says Deb is a “self-described huge Blue Jays fan.”
The Jays Care Foundation receives half of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle to help provide programming for students in Canada.
