Hamilton Public Library renaming could honour Copps

The idea of naming Hamilton Public Library after the city’s former mayor, Victor Copps is becoming closer to reality.
The possibility is still in the early stages, but councillor Sam Merulla has moved a motion to consider the name change.
This comes after city councillors agreed to sell the naming rights of Copps Coliseum, which is now known as FirstOntario Centre.
Victor Copps served as Hamilton’s mayor from 1962 to 1976.
